Insect jewellery was prevalent in the Art Nouveau period with French designers such as René Lalique, Elizabeth Bonté and Georges Pierre producing necklaces, brooches and haircombs adorned with bees, dragonflies and moths. Art Nouveau carved horn jewellery (illustrated on the left) is amongst the most collected today and in many cases still affordable. Photos from left: carved horn dragonfly necklace marked Paris France, carved horn brooch by Elizabeth Bonté, carved horn moth necklace by Georges Pierre. The two latter pieces are amongst the best carved horn jewellery you'll find so expect to pay high prices.
